Scheduler

Q: Can I send the scheduled reports to several recipients?

A:Yes. Web CEO Professional lets you do that.

Open the 'Task configuration' window, go to the '3. Emailing' tab, check the 'Send an email with the report' option, and enter the email address of the recipient. To send a report to more than one recipient, use the Cc and Bcc fields and enter a semicolon to separate the addresses if necessary.

Q: Can I set up Scheduler to delete the old reports history?

A:The default period to keep your scheduled tasks history is 1 (one) month. You can change this period on the History tab in the general Scheduler settings.

To access these settings, go to File > Settings and then select the "Scheduler" tab. In the "History" section, choose how long you want to keep the completed tasks information.

Q: Can I use filters when viewing the Scheduler tasks?

A:Yes. Just open the Scheduler tool on the 'Task map' tab and click the 'All tasks' button at the top left of the program window. You can view the tasks that are enabled, were performed successfully, expired, tasks with the errors etc.

You can also create your own filters: please select 'New filter' from the drop-down menu and define your preferences there.

Q: Do I need to keep Web CEO open for the scheduled tasks to run?

A:The Scheduler can only run tasks when Web CEO is open. You can keep Web CEO open by doing the following:

1. Go to File > Settings > General tab > Miscellaneous > Other

2. Check the box 'Minimize to system tray when you close Web CEO'.

3. Go to the Scheduler tab > General section.

4. Check the box Run Web CEO on Windows startup.

Also, please note the Scheduler will not run tasks when it is deactivated. You can activate / deactivate the Scheduler by right-clicking its icon in the Web CEO tray (bottom right corner of the Web CEO screen) and selecting or deselecting 'Turn On/Off Scheduler'.

Q: How can I email reports automatically with Scheduler?

A:Yes, you can send reports by email automatically.

In the Task configuration window please go to the '3. E-mailing' tab and configure the profile: you can define the mailbox that you send the report from, the recipient(s)' email(s), the subject of the message and the type of report.

Please take care to specify the mailing settings first: select 'Settings' from the 'File' menu, go to the 'General' tab, then choose 'Mail transfer' and set the email account.

Q: How can I specify different start times for my recurring tasks?

A:In the 'Task configuration' window open the '1. Task schedule' tab, select 'Recurring' and press the 'Change' button. There you will be able to specify start date and time.

Q: What does it mean when a task is expired?

A:Let's take an example. If you set a task to run at 6 PM, but your computer is off, Web CEO is not open or the Scheduler is not active - the task is marked as expired.

When next launched, the program lists all the expired tasks. It prompts you to apply the default action or change their actions. You can turn this on or off by using the box 'Do not show the 'Expired tasks' window' in the Web CEO settings (File > Settings > Scheduler > General).

Q: Where can I find the name of the profile and other details describing the task?

A:You can see these details in the Task Map: just point to the task, and you'll see the name of the profile, the type of report and the scheduled time to run the report as a pop-up hint.

If you double-click on any specific task, you'll get the task configuration window. There you will see all the details for this task - profile used, report selected, number of search engines and keywords used, etc.
