Q: After connecting and uploading files, I can`t see them on the `My Site` pane

A: Most likely, your server is not set to accept the List-a command. Change the default FTP connection settings. Go to 'Options' on the Uploader toolbar, uncheck the option to `Send the List-a command for possibility to see hidden files` and hit Save or Apply.

After the changes are saved, you can connect to your server again and view the list of files and folders on the right-hand Uploader pane.

Q: Are all files transferred in the binary mode, or can I switch to ASCII mode?

A: Web CEO FTP Uploader transfers all files as binary -- this ensures that they are compatible with all server types.

Q: Are there any limits to the file size/type I can upload?

A: There are no limits in Uploader - you can download files of any type and size (HTML pages, images, music, videos). However, your host server may have a maximum file size limit.

Q: Can I have two FTP addresses for one project to choose from?

A: There is no option to switch between two FTP addresses for one website project.
The only way to use two different FTP addresses without re-entering them each time is to create two separate projects.

FTP Uploader has no reference to the site project you work with. This means that you can even use the demo site(www.weatherscreen.com) to enter an alternate FTP address in the Uploader settings and upload files to this FTP address.

Q: How can I download files from my FTP server?

A: To download files, go to Features > Uploader > Options. Enter the details needed to set up a connection with the FTP server. Your host should provide the host name, port, user name, password, and user folder. Ensure that the settings are correct, and then press Save and Connect.

Choose the place to download your files to on the left pane (My Computer). Open the folder on the web server (My Site pane) that contains the files you would like to download. Select the files or folders. Press the button with the large blue arrow. You can download files of any type and size.

Q: How can I upload files to my FTP server?

A: From the main program menu, go to Features > Uploader > Options. Enter the details to set up a connection with the FTP server. Your host should provide the host name, port, user name, password, and user folder. After you ensure that the settings are correct, hit Save and Connect.

Open the destination folder on the web server where you want to upload files. Browse to the local folder. Select files or folders to upload, and press the large blue arrow. You can upload files of any type and size.

Q: I cannot connect to my server - what`s wrong?

A: Most likely, your connection settings are incorrect.

To check your FTP settings, go to Options on the Uploader toolbar, and make sure that you have entered all necessary details to set up a connection with the FTP server. Your host should provide the host name, user name, password, port, and user folder.

Ensure that your firewall or anti-virus software allows Web CEO access through the FTP port (by default, 21). If you are having trouble, try switching to passive mode in your Uploader connection settings.

Make sure that these settings are correct; press Save and then Connect. If the problem persists, contact your hosting company to find out if they have changed some details without informing you.

Q: I have found that the FTP server connects successfully to the server, but after some time the connection is suddenly broken.

A: Your FTP server may be set to automatically end the connection after a certain period of inactivity.

Go to Options on the Uploader toolbar and verify that the option to send the `No operation` command to your server is enabled. You can also decrease the period between NOOP commands from 30 to 10 seconds.

Q: What connection settings do I need to know?

A: You need to know the FTP server's host name, user name, password, and port. The starting folder may also be required.
